My name is Mark Hassall and as Director in the Core Infrastructure Partner team at Microsoft Corp, I am responsible for to and through partner marketing for Microsoft’s Windows Server, System Center, Virtualization and Forefront family of products. As I’m here at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) this week in Washington DC, I thought it would be a good idea to start a new blog for Core Infrastructure partners to share the news and announcements from the event and to get the reaction, thoughts and opinions of partners.
My impressions from attending the opening day’s vision and value keynotes and talking to lots of partners are that your customers are clearly rapidly adopting cloud services and that the Cloud therefore offers a tremendous opportunity to grow your businesses, expand your customer reach, and build multiple revenue streams. Today at WPC for example, Microsoft announced the Windows Azure Platform Appliance that will extend the power of Microsoft’s cloud services platform to customer and service provider datacenters. And Microsoft also announced further innovation on the Windows Server platform to make it faster and easier for customers and partners to extend their existing investments and build public and private cloud solutions.
In short I walked away from day 1 thinking that there has never been a better time to be a partner and to have a partnership with Microsoft. But what were your impressions and key takeaways?
