Dennis has written an article which examines the role of Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2003 and Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. Specifically Dennis observes that additional security controls are of limited use in isolation and that process procedure and awareness are at least as important. He likes the way the new service packs reduce the attack surface of the operating system and shares his frustration that he'd like us to go further still.
