Cloud Insights from Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise Client & Mobility
Earlier I posted the big news that the Microsoft Remote Desktop app is now available for Android, iOS and Mac OS X.
As of this morning, after just a few days of availability, the Remote Desktop app has been downloaded, 1 million times!
Downloads have been steadily growing, and this is now the fastest growing Android app from Microsoft, ever.
This kind of adoption is exciting; the Remote Desktop App brings the dynamic experience of Windows to devices around the world.

That's a very useful app, indeed.
But I hope that Microsoft develops the same app for Windows Phone 8 devices too.
It's a great app. I wanted this long back.
Agree with Luigi... Maybe MS could tell us that they appreciate us buying into their ecosystem by providing an app for WP8.
Excellent platform integration with PC's
Why not use a Windows 7 laptop instead?
TeamViewer is still better. And it's been available for most platforms for years. Free for personal use.
They bought out iTap RDP. They should all all the of features that iTap had and integrate it with their own Remote Desktop App.
Would be cool if Microsoft released this for their own Windows Phone OS ... I guess they don't use it either.

Thanks for the feedback and questions.
When we first started developing the Remote Desktop app, we prioritized RDP apps for tablet form factors since the screen size is the most compelling for RDP interactions. There is also a Windows RT app that has already launched with a very good RDP client in the Apps for Windows store.
We are excited to launch the Microsoft Remote Desktop app for Windows Phone, and work has already begun. We’ll share more info on the timeframe in the future. I’m looking forward to releasing a great remoting experience for Windows Phone.
Trust me, I want this phone app just as much as you do! :)
Nice figure there of 1 Million downloads, but then Microsoft seems to forget about us the Windows Phone users?! It's sometimes just hard to swallow when Microsoft bring their app/products to other platforms much faster than their own ecosystem, example Skype or Remote Desktop in this case and yet Microsoft vision is to bring back Windows Phone ecosystem to fight against the iOS and Android.
But I hope that Microsoft develops the same app for Windows Phone 8 devices too
