You can link your Windows Azure Virtual Network to an on-premises network via site-to-site VPN connection, as illustrated above.
All you need is a VPN device on your home network and a direct connection to the internet.
The list of (currently) supported devices is here. I would expect this list to grow over time.
If you don’t seen your VPN device in the list, your device still may work with Windows Azure Virtual Network if it satisfies these requirements:
I hope to be posting more about Windows Azure IaaS over the coming weeks & months..
Start your evaluation by signing up for a free, 90 day trial. Use these steps to get you started.
On November 14, 2012, Microsoft will be hosting Windows AzureConf, a free event for the Windows Azure community. This special event will be streamed live from Microsoft Redmond Campus Channel 9 Studios on November 14, 2012, and will feature 12 presentations put on by Windows Azure MVPs and Insiders, and will feature an opening keynote presentation by Scott Guthrie.
Scott’s keynote starts at 16:30 and runs through until 18:00 – this is a “must watch”!
Then there is a series of twelve, 75 minute presentations running in two streams that go on until a quarter past midnight.
The event is 100% free and open to the public. We do request that attendees register for the event at http://windowsazureconf.net
Read the session descriptions at www.windowsazureconf.net/Schedule
Everything will be recorded and made available for later viewing, but I do suggest that you make the time to watch Scott Guthrie’s keynote.
With our week of System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 not even started, we’re already planning a week of Operations Manager 2012.
So it’s still not a week (it’s four days) and they’re not days (they’re four, one hour slots).
These will be online, Lync meetings running from 13:30 – 14:30. If you’re interested in attending please email me and I’ll send you the meeting invitation. We’ll fix this for future meetings (we’re just waiting on our Office 365 tenancy).
In this session we will cover the initial design and setup of SCOM and all the components of the application. You will learn how to size and deploy your monitoring solution. We will deploy the DW and we will look at ACS.
In this session we will look at management pack import, MP tuning and MP guides. You will learn how to manage the key part of SCOM – the MP. After this session you will really understand how monitoring takes place on a server.
In this session we will look at the core components of SCOM; Rules, Monitors and Discoveries. We will create custom rules, and monitors to do a number of common tasks. Then we will build a Distributed Application and see how monitoring works from a holistic view.
In this session we will look at SCOM reporting and how it works, we will create custom reports and see how we can schedule reports. We will then look at the new network monitoring feature in SCOM.
We really hope you can attend these online meetings. If you can’t, don’t worry as we’ll be recording them for future viewing.
I stumbled upon this the other day – it literally is everything you ever wanted to know about System Center 2012 and more.
