The ICAB team is pleased to offer another in our series of Live Meetings, enabling you to learn about content initiatives and Microsoft technologies and to have live conversations with Microsoft experts. This month, Microsoft technical evangelist Joey Snow joins us for a discussion about how the cloud will change the role of the IT professional.

Here’s a summary of his presentation, called “Myths of the Cloud”:

Cloud computing represents the next major shift in the way that IT will be delivered to companies large and small.  Cloud computing is a career-defining opportunity to add real business value through strategic and tactical understanding of the cloud's relationship with organizational goals.

There are many misconceptions surrounding the cloud and what it has to offer. This session will address these myths and give you a better understanding of the next steps to take to enable your organization to reap the benefits of cloud computing. It can provide much more than savings, creating a foundation for new competitive advantages.

We plan to present the Live Meeting at the following dates and times:

  • AMERICAS: April 25, 1-2 p.m. Pacific time
  • AUSTRALIA/NZ: April 26, 10 a.m. Sydney time
  • EUROPE: April 26, 4 p.m. London time

If you would like to receive a Live Meeting invitation, send an email to ICABnom@microsoft.com and indicate:

  • Which presentation you would like to attend: Europe, Americas, or Asia
  • If you are unable to use Live Meeting

After the presentations are done, we will post a summary of the presentation and your feedback on the blog. Thanks!
