Currently, we have a project named hot-fix online submitting to make the user submits a request more easily. In some KB articles that has this feature, you may notice a comments like:

To resolve this problem, submit a request to Microsoft Online Customer Services to obtain the hotfix. To submit an online request to obtain the hotfix, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Through the link, end users can submit the request to us and we will provide a link to the fix to users througth email.

Please keep also hotfixes not publicly available on the list. What's the problem with submitting a hotfix-request to MS? The respective KB-articles contain a link to request the mentioned hotfix easily.

We're a VL customer with access to the Premier content and an NDA, but it isn't viewable there either. I guess there is another level we don't have

I think they can be kept on the list, but some kind of moniker to it to note access level would at least help us know if we can access it or not.

Next, I will remove this kind of KB articles. Or do you want I keep it in the list?

Btw, does your team also cover Office, .NET Framework and all other Windows component hotfixes (such as MSXML) as it is not listed in your initial introduction? I would like to see a list of all/cumulative/superceeding hotfixes for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 and 1.0 SP3, since they are not receiving further service packs.

As suggested, in the near feature, I will categorize the KB article list in details. Hope it can help you.

Due to the limitation of the platform and our working style, there may be some problem at very beginning. Pardon me.

This site is great.... but i only have one feature request.... when can we get hotfixes put up on to Microsoft Update Catalogue so we can deploy them via WSUS... ????

I like to know what hotfixes are released as this gives me an indication what problems could be resolved.

Unfortunately you are on your own to choose if you would install a hotfix to prevent a possible problem in the future.

For example some hotfixes are classified as 'recommended' as stated in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935640/ for this particular configuration. This gives me the 'confidence' that these hotfixes are ok.

I hope it is possible that Microsoft can 'recommend' other hotfixes for other products.

Other question, updates available without Microsoft request like http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943295/ are suitable for preventive installation generally speaking?
