Sign In Application error

 

SYMPTOMS

Sign In Application reports error “The user name or password is
incorrect .please try again”. User is unable to login into Microsoft Online Services
(Outlook) but could login in webmail.

 

RESOLUTION

  1. Uninstall the Sign In Application first. To do
    this, follow these steps:
    1. Remove program from Control panel
    2. Delete the registry keys
      (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MOCHA\).
    3. Delete the MSO profiles
      (C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Sign In).
  2. Reinstall the latest version of Sign In
    application from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5c2ca866-4107-4ae5-98d5-76bf1b18ff87&displaylang=en
