Hi Everyone,

 

Last week, 8 Windows legacy products related hot-fix KB articles were released, including 1 for Windows XP, 6 for Windows Server 2003 and 1 for SMS. Below are the details:

 

Windows XP - 1 KB article:

·         959260 A system memory leak may occur when you play video media content that is encoded by the Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile codec in Windows Media Player 10 on a Windows Server 2003-based computer or on a Windows XP-based computer

 

Windows Server 2003 - 6 KB articles:

·         953419 Windows Server 2003-based DNS servers directly send name resolution requests to name servers even though a conditional forwarder is configured

·         957877 Stop error on a Windows Server 2003-based terminal server that has hotfix 951749 installed: "0x0000008E"

·         957930 A name resolution query fails when Windows Server 2003-based DNS servers set the AA bit for the DNS query and forward the query to conditional forwarders

·         958506 Incorrect results are returned when you use the File Server Resource Manager Reports feature in Windows Server 2003 R2 to search for files whose names include specific double-byte character set characters

·         958820 A Windows Server 2003-based computer restarts unexpectedly and you receive a Stop error message during the terminal session logoff process: "0x0000008E KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"

·         959466 Stop error on a Windows Server 2003-based terminal server that has a third-party Input Method Editor (IME) installed: "Stop 0x000000AB (SESSION_HAS_VALID_POOL_ON_EXIT)"

 

Systems Management Server - 1 KB article:

·         956307 Error message when you install the Inventory Tool for Dell Update (ITDU) on an SMS 2003 site server after July 1, 2008: "The Sync task failed to download content from source location"
