安納もジョーク交じりで雰囲気を書いてくれていますが、Tech･Ed もなんとあと10日を切りました。みんな自分のセッションのことが頭から離れない中、頑張ってスペシャルセッションのネタをそれぞれ書き、合わせて喧々諤々。ここだけの話、すごいことになりそうです。だってロードマップを 75分 かけて話す 4人衆 なんて初めてじゃないでしょうか。練るところは練りました、あとは仕上げをご覧くださいですかね。私はリレーの2周目を走るランナーらしい。トラックで転んだ日にはその後ボコボコに違いありません。(*_*)

[TechEd] Well, special special
Anno-san has blogged about us about preparing for the Special General Session @ Tech Ed Yokohama. It'll be a 4 speaker joint session so while everyone is thinking about their own breakout session, we made each part and merged it and discussed pretty heavily about every part and how to pass on to the next. I would say, it'll be an unbelievable session. Why? Because I've never seen 4 people talk about the Enterprise Product Roadmap ever at least never in Japan. Well let's see how it goes on stage. It looks like I'm the second runner for the relay and if I fall down somewhere, I'm sure everyone's gonna kick my ass afterwards :-)

[TechEd] Tech･Ed Shinbun (Newspaper) is download available!
I'd like to write something for people who were able to attend Tech・Ed 2007 Yokohama and also who couldn't attend. The newspaper that was delivered to every attendee at the conference is now download available.
Ohno-san who was doing everything for this newspaper - the editor, journalist, camera-man etc. - has written in his blog about this.
What happened at Tech・Ed, what kind of sessions were held, whatever, this newspaper is probably the best resource for you. The Open Stage session done by Ohno-san was also a great session, concluded with a huge applause which made this a very successful project. I wonder if we're doing this next year also or not :-)

私見ですが、昨年に比べると随分とすっきりした感じの基調講演だったのではないでしょうか。各パートでデモをする担当も一人ですし、それぞれが大舞台でデモをした経験がかなりあるメンバーでしたのでお伝えしたい内容は話しきっていたと思います。実は昨年のTech･Edのデモを担当した田辺には色々な意見を聞いて、基調講演メンバーに一生懸命インプットしました。まあ今年のメンバーには釈迦に説法に近いものがあったんですけど。あと、実は基調講演の内容をまとめる役割を果たしていたのが 実は IT Pro 道場 などでもお馴染みの松井です。日頃 皆さんとセミナー会場などでお話させていただいている細かい事柄がこういう舞台を作りあげる中で実は我々の中で生きていることで生きた意見を社内に伝えているわけで、本当に色々なご意見をいつもいただける皆様には感謝感謝だと思っています。

IMHO, I think the keynote was a very straight forward and easy to understand session. The demo people were 1 per 1 theme and everyone who were on stage were experienced speakers on large stages so I believe what they wanted to tell was shown 100% for each part. Actually I asked many opinions from Shigeya who was one of the demo people last year and felt things can get better. I brought those advises to the meetings and gave feedback and opinions. Well this year's speakers were all experienced so it was like giving advice to elder people but anyway I did it. And one thing to add, the key person who was doing the negotiation with Redmond who will come for the Keynote was Matsui-san, many of you know him through IT Pro Dojo. The everyday talk we have at seminars, any detail, anything technical issues live in us to bring better input to Microsoft inside when we build a large event like this. I'd like to say thank you to everybody who always give us great feedback.

[Tech Ed] Slight change in breakout sessions
On the first slot of Aug.24, Anno-san's session has moved to the 3rd day. This happened because the speaker for System Center Essentials on Aug.24 needed to be changed due to unavoidable situation and Anno-san's taking over this session. [TechEd] Started a new "TechEd" blog feed
Most of the bloggers here are also listed at the "Power to the PRO" page under http://www.microsoft.com/japan/powerpro but this new page just feeds the Tech Ed 2007 Yokohama issues so if you're interested, please check this page out. Everyone is pretty occupied building their demos but eventually they will start writing more details on what they are gonna show.

実はIIS7を話す機会が今年はかなりありそうで、Tech・Ed を皮切りにPHP系のユーザーカンファレンスやREMIXでも話しますし、MSONでも引き続きセミナーをしていこうと思っています。VLABもお約束を果たせていないので是非頑張りたいところですし、上で検索できるMSPressの本の日本語化には関わりたいですし、まあ 「仕事」Queue の中 はてんこもり、やり甲斐ありまくりでうれしい限りです。じゃんじゃん持ってきてくださいまし。(^。^)y-.。o○ 本当に色々なところに出かけていって色々な方とWebインフラについてお話したいですね。

Search at online book stores with keywords "Foreign Books" and "IIS 7." Still most of them are not sold yet, just for reservation but one of them is already on the shelf and I already bought it.

Well Chris Adams is *THE* webcast person for the IIS team, and if you try to find an IIS webcast, most of them were done by him. Really sorry to say, he left Microsoft a little while ago. It seems like there is alot of opportunities where I'm going to speak about IIS7 this year. Starting from TechEd, PHP User Conference, REMIX, and also I'm going to do sessions for Microsoft On this year too. I still haven't fulfilled my promise delivering an IIS Virtual LAB so I'd like to do that and also I'd like to be part of the localization process of MSPress books for IIS7. Umm, there's alot in my work queue but very very happy for this situation, come on bring more! I'm really motivated this year. I'd really like to go out there and speak with people about web infrastructure!
Tech・Ed のオフィシャルページに掲載されましたが、初めてTech・Edに来られる方は特に広い会場をどのように回って何を聞こうかとか何をしようかとかものすごく悩みます。なので今年はかなり早い時期にコンテンツメンバーの発案でこれを今年やろうと言ってどたばたしつつなんとか当日よりも前に出せました。正直、非常に多くのアクティビティがあるので全部網羅したものにしたかった気持ちはあったのですが、今年はバージョン1.0ということでテクニカルセッションの歩き方にさせていただきました。

外は本当に今年暑くて大変ですが、社内は冷房をきかしているのにマシンだらけで微妙にエバンジェリスト シマの辺りは本当に暑いです。さっきうちのチームの持ち込み台数を数えたら確認できただけで26台もありました。何をするんだろう。。。きっとみんなきちんとブログでレポートすることでしょう。。。
横浜に残念ながらお越しいただけない人はまた今年も新聞を現地で（実は大野が編集長）配りますが、PDFで数週間するとダウンロードセンターで4日分＋夕刊を入手できるようになると思うので何が行われたのか、大きなメッセージ���なんだったのかを見ていただくといいと思います。

[TechEd] This year not just "TechEd Shinbun"(Name of a newspaper made specifically for TechEd Yokohama) but also "How to walk around TechEd"
It's already on the Tech・Ed official page - If it's your first time attending TechEd, it's pretty hard to figure out which activity you want to attend since there's so many and pretty much everything is attractive. So this year we are doing a trial of giving "How to walk around TechEd" to every attendee. It's a small booklet which includes which sessions should fit you if you are an ITPRO, Developer or if you just want to attend famous speakers or maybe you want to attend super high-level sessions only and so forth. The staff members really wanted to cover every activity but since it's version 1.0, we limited the walking to only breakout sessions this year.
Maybe it's full of my prejudice so if you have anything to say about it, please put it in the survey :-)
Outside it's really hot this wee. Even in an air conditioned room, the area around me, there are so many machines and it's pretty hot here - yes it's Tech Ed next week and I sit in the evangelist island where everybody is building their demos. I counted 26 at least in my row, wow what are these guys doing ? Let's see and they will probably write something in their blogs so please check out.
People who can't join us in Yokohama should check the "TechEd Shinbun" (Ohno-san is doing the writing) which would be downloadable several weeks after TechEd. There you can find what the key messages were and what happened in the event.
People who can come, enjoy! Evangelists will be wearing long sleeve blue speaker shirts so we're easy to find. Please come up and let's talk! Even if the speaker seems desperate (worrying about his demos) or nervous, we'll be happy and energized by talking to you.

今でこそかなりの人が「IIS7って」と言ってくれるようになってきましたが、MDC2006で初めて話した時は「おもしろいね、でもまだまだ」と結構言われていました。 Windows Server 2008 June CTP で Server Core にも搭載され、今となってはかなり引っ張りだこな現状がびっくりします。当時はVistaもまだ製品前だったこともあって動かない？バグ？他のビルドでは？の繰り返しでした。今はVistaも製品、Windows Server 2008 はもう June CTP とかなり進み、気持ちは1999年に2000のRCを触っていたのと同じ感じで変な気持です。
今は本当にIIS7.0がきちんと触れる環境が整い、「IIS7.0っていいね！」ってかなり声がかかるようになり、自分の子供を誉められたみたいにうれしいです。是非 お試しください、そして横浜に来られる方は。。。お楽しみに (^O^)／

These days, everyone would say "How's IIS7?" but when I first introduced it in Japan at MDC2006, "Interesting but not yet..." was the response I got from most of the people. NOW you can use IIS7 on Windows Server 2008 June CTP Server Core. It is unbelievable how everything has changed and I'm asked to speak at so many occasions. At the introduction time, Vista was still Beta and when something doesn't work, "Is it a bug?" "What about other builds?" was happening every time I was preparing for any seminar. NOW we have the released Vista, June CTP for Windows Server 2008. I feel like what I felt in 1999 when I was touching Windows 2000 RCs, almost there but not yet kind of stage.
NOW we have an environment that you can really try out IIS7 and many people are starting to say "WOW!, IIS7 is cool!" It's like somebody says good things about your kid. I'm really happy even though I was not the guys who built it, it's really good. I'm so proud of what the IIS guys did. Please try it out, it's really worth it. And people who are coming to Yokohama, let's see what I can show you :-)
いやあ Tech・Ed ももう2日が過ぎ、折り返し地点まで来ました。イベント全体を見ている生江の元気なさが気になりつつ、寝てないんだろうなと思うのでありました。明日はついに奥主 初登壇、スペシャル・セッションでございます。あまりにもこのセッション内容をつめていくプロセスが面白かったので今度 Making of xxxx でも書こうかしら。エバンジェリストは与えられた時間の中で実は微妙な場合にはアナウンサー並の「時間に収める」能力が必要なんですが、実は話好きが多かったりするのでもう大変です。。。明日は4人で話すので果たしてみんな自分の役割をきちんと果たせるか乞うご期待でございます。
[Tech・Ed] Special session in 7 hours
Half of TechEd has passed already and 2 days left. I'm pretty worried that Namae-san who is responsible for the entire event logistics is not so cheerful as usual, letting me think that she isn't sleeping so much. Well tomorrow, actual today I'll be doing my first session, the special session. The process of making this session was so interesting that I should write a making blog later on when I have more time. Evangelists sometimes need the ability to fit the speaking available time like TV casters but as far as I know, everyone likes to speak so much and it seems to be very difficult for everyone to do their part in the right time. Let's see what happens on stage!
私は2005年に初めて登壇をさせていただいた Tech・Ed ですが、実は講師控え室は開催日が過ぎるに連れて一喜一憂することがあります。実はアンケートの集計結果というのは当日遅くに当日分の集計速報が貼り出されるのです。つまり今年のセッションの出来がお客様の目からシビアに評価された成績ランキングとして掲載されるのです。きついですよ、これ。みんな初体験の時にはまるで学生の成績が廊下に貼り出される学校に通っているみたいと言います。実は今年安納がそういうコメントでした。（*^_^*） 数か月準備してきた成果が吉と出るか凶と出るか、本当に一喜一憂です。でも今年 イベントのコンテンツを見てきたメンバーとしてはクオリティを高く維持するにはいい方法だと冷静に見てしまいました。明日と明後日は自分のセッションがあるのでそんなこと言ってないと思いますけど (；一_一)
[TechEd] To be honest... TechEd speakers and their worries
I got the opportunity to speak at TechEd Japan in 2005 for the first time. There is actually something every speaker is worried about. The survey results for all sessions done that day is calculated and made into a ranking list which is taped on the wall at the speaker room. So the session you deliver that year will be examined by very severe customers and that shows up as ranking on the wall. This is really tough when you get bad scores. Everybody says something like you're a student in school where they put exam results on the wall. Actually Anno-san said something like this this year. :-) Well so everybody is worried how the results turn out - good or bad. On the other hand, this year as a staff preparing contents, this is a really good way to keep high bars for everyone to clear and keep the content quality high. Well tomorrow and the next day, I'll have my own sessions so I probably wouldn't be saying the same dry comment...
Tech・Ed が大野の Wrap Up オープンステージを以て全日程終了いたしました。関係者の皆様、本当にお疲れ様でした＆ありがとうございました。大きなイベントのスタッフの一員＋講師 として活動できたことは非常に大きな経験でした。その代わり、大変な一大プロジェクトであることがよくわかりました。精神的にかなり疲れました。ゆっくり体を休めて次へすぐにスィッチしたいと思います。

This year's TechEd ended with Ohno-san's wrap-up open stage. To everyone who were contributing in anyway, thanks for all your passion & efforts. It was a great experience working as one of the staffs + as one of the speakers. On the contrary, I really got the point that this is a huge project. Pretty tired mentally but we need to move on, I'll switch gears on to the next.

[IIS7] I'm speaking at the PHP Conference 2007

It was announced at the User Group Street Live stage @ Tech・Ed Yokohama and already some of the great web technology engineers have already joined this list. So I also recommend this mailing list for IIS7 information gathering.
