How can I determine which USB devices are connected to a computer? -- WM
Hey, WM. If you watch a lot of TV - um, not that the Scripting Guys do; we spend our spare time reading the works of Shakespeare, solving differential equations

re: How Can I Determine Which USB Devices are Connected to a Computer?

@Curtis Hoffmann no the script has not been updated. Windows 7 comes with Windows PowerShell which is much easier to use. The above code could be written in about four lines of code in Windows PowerShell. However, the WMI class is a standard class, and therefore the script should work on Windows 7 ... try it and see.

I've got two USB devices (a synthesizer keyboard and a Kaossillator Pro synth). The K-Pro doesn't use pure MIDI commands, so I want to write a VBScript to act as an interface. But I can't find any script examples for reading USB in, then writing USB out (each device already has their own drivers, so it's a matter of discovering if the device is plugged in, if the driver is running, and then handling USB streams. None of which I know how to do.) Suggestions for where to look for this? Thanks.
