Hey, Scripting Guy! Question How can I use Windows PowerShell to check the update status of Windows Defender on my
         computer running Windows 8.1?

 Hey, Scripting Guy! Answer Use the Get-MPComputerStatus cmdlet and select properties that contain the word Updated:

Get-MpComputerStatus | select *updated

  • Hey Scripting guy. I was getting the following error "The extrinsic method could not be executed" I'm on 8.1 and ran it as administrator in PS. Didn't find a lot on the error in google. Thoughts?

  • found it. Defender had been disabled. Thanks!
