Learn about Windows PowerShell
Summary: Learn how to use Windows PowerShell to launch an item from the Control Panel.
How can I use Windows PowerShell to launch the Mail item on the Control Panel in Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012?
Use the Get-ControlPanelItem with a wildcard character to retrieve the item, then pipe the results to the Show-ControlPanelItem cmdlet:
Get-ControlPanelItem *mail* | Show-ControlPanelItem
I am beginner with Poweshell and I stareded to wonder is there a reason why you shuoldn't use Show-ControlPanelItem *Mail* instead of Get-ControlPanelItem *mail* | Show-ControlPanelitem ? I don't get why I should pipe two cmdlets together when you can use only one cmdlet.
But can it be done with Powershell on a remote computer?
