Summary: Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, announces the holiday lineup.

Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, is here. I am pleased to announce the holiday lineup for this year’s holiday season. Once again, it is written by Windows PowerShell MVP and Honorary Scripting Guy Sean Kearney.

Here is Sean’s updated biography:

One day a little boy looked up at his Dad and said, "I'm going to be an Architect!"

Fortunately, for the rest of the world, he was half right.

Where Sean completely lacked in designing tall, scary unstable buildings that would readily collapse, he makes up in his infrastructure and automation abilities.

He has also contributed three unique “Holiday Specials” about Windows Powershell to Microsoft.

He is one of the first ever Honorary Scripting Guys, a Charter Member of the Springboard Technical Experts Program and is rumored to be trying to build a T.A.R.D.I.S. Out of a dishwasher.

We are told his wife is not amused.

While he will never (repeat NEVER Ever EVER) be singing the Las Vegas circuit (Mitch Garvis has guaranteed this), he does dream of presenting for TechEd someday.

This year, the holiday lineup includes five chapters of It’s a Wonderful Shell staring a poor, overworked, and underappreciated IT pro named George Shelley. George thinks no one appreciates all the hard work he does around the office attempting to automate systems through Windows PowerShell. To get you in the mood, you may want to check out Sean’s 2012 holiday song Deck the halls with cmdlets.

Check back tomorrow for part one of It’s a Wonderful Shell.

I invite you to follow me on Twitter and Facebook. If you have any questions, send email to me at scripter@microsoft.com, or post your questions on the Official Scripting Guys Forum. See you tomorrow. Until then, peace.
