Are you looking to (or already) create an app for Windows 8 and want to submit your app now before the Windows Store officially opens to everyone?

I’m guessing you are indeed interested or your wouldn’t have continued reading this post.  I know I focus mostly on IT Professionals, but I also know that there are a lot of IT Pros out there that also do some development work (for their job or on the side). 

We (Microsoft) are looking for the first wave of great applications that highlight the power of Metro and Windows 8 so we want to do everything we can to help you get your applications submitted now.  Since the Windows Store isn’t open yet, you will need a token in order to do so at this time.  So, I’m sure you’re asking how you would go about getting one of these tokens?  It’s a simple 2 step process.

1. Create a great application or game and get it ready.  You should also review the Metro guidelines and certification requirements so you start off on the right foot.
2. Contact me via email at harold.wong@microsoft.com.  Please enter Windows 8 Token as the subject of the email and I’ll send you the specific directions.

Not only will you have the opportunity to be first to market, but you can also get feedback from a Microsoft Services Engineer to make your app great.

In addition, my team is holding a series of events to help you get started and be successful in writing a great and wonderful app.  There are 5 taking place over the course of the next month (one is tomorrow).  The details are below.
