I'm a group product manager in the Exchange Product Management Group. I lead our marketing, readiness, and go-to-market strategy for our fantastic Microsoft Exchange partner ecosystem. This includes transactional and solutions partners across the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN), like our Exchange resellers, ISVs, system integrators, and hardware partners.
I joined Microsoft back in March 2004 and have held a variety of marketing positions across the company's information security, infrastructure and messaging businesses. My experiences include product management and launch of Windows Server 2008 networking technologies (which you can read all about from my previous blog http://blogs.technet.com/ianhamer), management of executive communications activities for the Security Business & Technology Unit (SBTU), and Exchange Server 2010 product planning. Before taking on my current role leading Exchange Partner Marketing, I drove product management for the archiving and discovery workload of Exchange Server 2010 and Exchange Hosted Archive.
Prior to Microsoft, I spent six years at Computer Associates International, Inc. (now known as CA Technologies), in positions spanning product development, strategic brand management and partner strategy for security and enterprise management business units.
On those occasions when I'm not thinking about our Exchange partners, you can find me in Rave Green passionately rooting for my Seattle Sounders FC (our local Major League Soccer franchise), out with my Nikon trying to hone my photography skills, or futzing with one of the new geeky gadgets I just had to have!
