Same unattend.xml file for Windows XP deployment with WDS

Recently I deployed Windows XP with WDS using WIM images.  There was no way to make an unattend.xml file because the AIK tool did not work with the Windows XP WIM files.  I ended up using this xml file and posting it here for future reference.

This only scripts out the first boot and copy down of the image up until reboot when XP comes up.  In our envirement we have multiple images to choose from so the image selection was not scripted.

  • Could you provide a little more information on how you applied this?

This is the exact XML that I created however the tools will not allow me to apply it to the XP WIM. We are trying to use this to make sure the drive is formatted before the install.
