&lt;p&gt;That is actually not totally correct. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I think it is great that Microsoft has finally documented how Microsoft Office 2007 handles encryption of OOXML-documents. The information until now has been nothing more than &amp;quot;Microsoft Office 2007 uses the Office CryptoAPI&amp;quot; and that was pretty much it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The documentation will help the rest of us figure out what Microsoft Office 2007 actually does when protecting a document, and as I wrote some time ago on my blog at &lt;a rel="nofollow" target="_new" href="http://idippedut.dk/post/2007/09/18/Password-beskyttelse-af-en-OOXML-fil.aspx"&gt;http://idippedut.dk/post/2007/09/18/Password-beskyttelse-af-en-OOXML-fil.aspx&lt;/a&gt; (sorry, in Danish) quite a lot of information is needed expecially when it comes to the functionality in the Office Crypto API that Microsoft Office 2007 doesn't support.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://blogs.technet.com/aggbug.aspx?PostID=3117319" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
