All too common, I'm afraid. Characterizing Doug Mahugh as "Satan" is pretty offensive too. To me this really outlines the difference between the people who get involved in things, and the ones who sit on the sidelines and throw tantrums. I found the discussion on the ODF TC email DL (the facts) to be much more illuminating than what the ex-Novell guy has to say.

I find it interesting that the spinners cited Schulz but did not find it worthwhile to report the original invitation that Doug Mahugh (the Microsoft ODF TC member) made to his colleagues: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200806/msg00075.html

Checking all of the replies there suggests that Schulz's misunderstanding of the invitation was cleared up quickly and there is now a request to provide for virtual attendance for those who are unable to travel to Redmond.
