New NAV 5.0 installer for every country/langauge released (Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1 CSIDE Client.msi).

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 on a computer that is running a localized version of Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), you may receive the following error message:

The Windows Installer service cannot update the system file c:\WINDOWS\system32\msxml6r.dll because the file is protected by Windows. You may need to update your operating system for this program to work correctly.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Msxml6r.dll file in the "C:\WINDOWS\system32" folder is controlled by Windows File Protection in Windows XP SP3. Therefore, the Windows Installer for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 cannot overwrite the Msxml6r.dll file by using another language version of the Msxml6r.dll file.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. The hotfix corrects the problem that is described in this article. Apply the hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact your Microsoft Dynamics partner or Technical Support for Microsoft Dynamics and related products to obtain the hotfix.
