Hyperlinks Do Not Work in Outlook Express or in Word
Problem description In Microsoft Outlook Express and in Microsoft Word, hyperlinks appear in underlined blue text, but when you click a hyperlink, nothing may occur.
I trhink it is aabsolutely fantanstic that home PN operators have a Microsoft Mr, Fixit site that can solve problems for us geeks.
That Mr. Fixit did not help -- still can not open links in (Office 2003) Word and outlook (not Express).
This fix did not work for Outlook Express v6.
my computer outlook and word are not runing
This fix it tool did not work. I also tried this:
1. Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Run dialog box, and then click OK:
2. Repeat step 1 for each of the following commands:
When I type in “regsvr32 urlmon.dll” it get a successful notification. When I type in the next “regsvr32 mshtml.dll”, I get a message that states, “The module “mshtml.dll” was loaded but the entry point DllServer was not found. Make sure the “mshtml.dll” is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.”
The same happens when I tried “shdocvw.dll” and “browseui.dll”. When I typed in the “msjava.dll” it succeeded.
I am running IE8, MSOutlook 2007 SP2
I get the same as Kara so any help very welcome.
FixIt did nothing....
I have the same problem as Kara, June 9,2009, and the others. Where is the answer to solve this problem?
It didn't work for me, either!
Why bother to have the feature???
The fix didn't work for me either. I tried it both ways with no luck. I'm using Outlook Express 6. Any suggestions?
I get the same error msg for the same command as Kara: mshtml. Hyperlink non-functioning began upon finally being able to successfully install ie8. I was able to get Outlook links to function but not WORD.
http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm (Scroll to 'Hyperlinks in messages stop working'. This repaired Outlook.)
http://www.scscc.com/bkk/Hyperlinks%20Won't%20Work,%20When%20Your.pdf (Scroll to bottom pg 2 of this pdf. This repaired WORD/EXCEL.)
I don't know if following directions of the pdf would have also repaired Outlook since I found & worked the first link before the pdf. MTFBWY
Cory - Many thanks! Your fix worked for me. For some reason the Application used to perform function on my machine read “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE” -nohome %1. Changing it to “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” -nohome did the trick!
Will let you know if it works for me. Thanks.
