The Next Big Thing collection showcases Windows Phone apps from independent developers every month. Amongst the latest batch of 31 are games with teddy bear-stealing monsters, fruit zombies and little jelly fish.
In “Finding Teddy,” you follow a little girl who’s after the monster who stole her teddy bear. In this mysterious, magical world of pixilated fun, beware of oddities and riddles that might distract both of you from your quest. “Blender Defender: Fruit Slicer” is the stuff of psychedelic produce nightmares, with exploding tomatoes, flying cherries and fleet-footed lemons. Stand your ground and defend your juicer from Angry Fruit Pirates, a Fruit Army and hordes of Fruit Zombies.
“Paper Monsters” takes you to Paperland, where you protect territory from Lord Papyrus and his minions. “Throne Wars” is a medieval adventure set amid battlefields and pillaged towns, where cunning strategy and bravery could make you King of Kings. “Jolly Fish” requires you to move a little jelly fish through a series of underwater passageways, as it floats up and down at your touch. It’s isn’t difficult, but it isn’t as easy as you might think.
