As the Microsoft Advertising Blog reports, the week will kick off with a keynote address by Keith Lorizio, vice president of U.S. Sales & Marketing for Microsoft and Xbox General Manager Ross Honey at Monday’s IAB MIXX, where attendees will see key features of the new Xbox One, launching Nov. 22.

A recent white paper from Microsoft comparing Android and Windows devices may help you with those decisions: it shows Windows devices are the way to go.

On Wednesday Microsoft released version 4.12 of Skype for iPhone and Skype for iPad, which focuses on call quality and accessibility improvements. Also, we listened to your feedback and added a new “Join Call” button for group voice calls, making it even easier for you to connect with your friends and loved ones.

Microsoft Advertising has rolled out a new Windows Phone 8 advertising SDK that will help make more money for Windows Phone app developers by supporting a richer set of ad experiences.
Over on the Microsoft Advertising Blog, Chris Ponath wrote, “The rich media ad formats will feature Expandable Ads that can include click to video and click to image capabilities. These ad experiences deliver immersive experiences that engage users within the app experience.”

On Wednesday, it was announced that Microsoft has earned a key government security certification known as FIPS 140-2.
Now, I’m sure everyone knows what FIPS 140-2 is , but just in case you don’t, here’s what Windows Phone’s Robert Hoover had to say about it: “It’s a U.S. government security standard used to accredit the cryptographic algorithms that protect sensitive data inside products like smartphones. The release also signals the final preview release before general availability of IE11 for Windows 7 later this fall. IE11 for Windows 8.1, on the other hand, will coincide with Windows 8.1 general availability on Oct. 18 – making IE11 available to more than 50 percent of all desktops worldwide.

In a joint announcement on Wednesday, Microsoft and AT&T said they will deliver a security-enhanced and reliable cloud solution that will allow enterprise customers to connect to Microsoft’s cloud platform using a private network.
The new solution will use cloud integration technology from AT&T to pair virtual private networking with Microsoft’s Windows Azure cloud platform. Customers of the solution are expected to experience as much as 50 percent lower latency than on the public Internet, and to be able to access cloud resources from any site using almost any wired or wireless device.
