Bing is piloting a new, ad-free “school edition” of its search experience in several districts across the U.S. The pilot program, called Bing for Schools, allows districts to remove all ads from Web searches on school computers – the first time a major search engine has offered schools this choice. Bing for Schools also offers enhanced privacy protections, strict filters to block adult content and daily learning activities (like these) built around the Bing Home Page.

The Bing for Schools pilot is now serving 800,000 students in districts including Los Angeles Unified School District (Calif.), Atlanta Public Schools, Fresno (Calif.) Unified School District and Detroit Country Day School. School administrators can register for the program here.
