Industry shifts such as the cloud, consumerization of IT and bring your own device (BYOD), big data, and mission critical computing have transformed datacenter computing. Some of these shifts are emerging, some not. Either way, many businesses are just starting to address them and need complete solutions. Just in time for next week’s Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 (WPC) in Houston, Microsoft and HP announced on Wednesday a set of market-ready solutions that Microsoft partners can begin offering their customers later this year.
Partners are “in the right place to seize the huge market opportunity that modernization of IT represents,” Mark Hassall, Microsoft director of Partner and Channel Marketing for Enterprise Partners, said. He adds that spending on virtualized hardware and software is slated to reach 43 percent of the total datacenter expenditures by 2014. Also, Mobility and VDI is becoming the highest growth driver and is predicted to reach $1B by 2017.

Microsoft and HP are very committed to this program and will offer partner support from generating sales to special promotions to pilots and proofs of concept. It’s ripe with opportunity for partners and will likely be welcomed by a lot of customers, too.
