Keith Combs just released a screencast about one of our team’s technologies:

Windows Vista Complete PC Backup and Restore Screencast

Windows Vista Complete PC backup is an utility that allows you to create a snapshot of your entire system and save it to a USB drive, DVD or external disk. In case your system crashes, you can restore it completely to that previous point in time – system, applications, fonts, files, emails, etc. You can think of Complete PC Backup as a permanent restoration point for your system and files.

Complete PC Backup is present in Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate versions.

  • Has anyone ever heard of a restore failing when using "Vista Complete Backup" because of "not enough space" (0x80780048)?

I'm posting here as a last resort after searching everywhere on the internet.

    - There definitely is enough space because the target disk for restore is an identical model.

    - It's not a freak occurrence because I've found unsolved questions from others reporting the same.

    - I noticed a similar sounding issue in a blog post here, but is was on backup.  For me backup works perfectly and restore gives this error.

The computer is not very old and had been running Vista with no problems previously.

    Any thoughts appreciated,

    LTG
