In 2005, we set out developing Exchange 2007. During the preliminary planning of Exchange 2007, we realized that the server architecture model had to evolve to deal with hardware constraints, like CPU, that

re: Exchange 2013 Server Role Architecture

Ross, can you comment a little bit on the CAS Array, there is some chatter on various forums about the lack of a CAS Array in Exchange 2013, and that any references to a CAS Array are merely updated references to Exchange 2010. Does Exchange 2013 have a CAS Array or not?

Thanks for this good post about the new server role architecture. Is there a Microsoft Layer 4 Load Balancer product/server role that can be used in this configuration? I believe the Microsoft Network Load Balancing (NLB) is an L2/L3 solution. What is software, product, appliance, hardware is Microsoft using for load balancing there Exchange 2013 CAS farms?

Thanks again.
