My name is Rob Simpson and I’ve been at Microsoft for over 5 years. I started as a Program Manager at the Microsoft Enterprise Engineering Center (EEC) where I was responsible for supporting customer engagements. The EEC is a large enterprise lab facility that allows customers and partners to test deployment and migration scenarios on pre-release Microsoft products so that we can take bugs and design change requests from real world scenarios and drive product improvement prior to RTM. My focus at the EEC was running Exchange deployment validation engagements. I then moved to the Exchange product group as an SDET in the Capacity Planning and Scalability team where I focused on scenario testing and customer deployment guidance for the mailbox role and multi-role servers in both physical and virtual deployment scenarios for Exchange 2010. Last year I started the Exchange 2010 Tested Solutions program and worked with some of our key server, storage, and network partners to design and test a series of reference architectures and publish a whitepaper series. I’ve now moved back to the EEC as a business development manager.
