Following on from the ISV article below - Windows Vista presents a great opportunity for ISVs to get involved with Microsoft.
Less than 3 percent of Microsoft ISVs are driving 80 percent of revenue.
Often vendor channels use the 80/20 rule - 80 percent of revenue is typically driven by 20 percent of partners. But new figures from USA state the Microsoft ISV channel receives 80 percent of its revenue out of less than 3 percent of its partners. That means that just more than 1,500 of the 67,000 partners classified as Microsoft ISV partners drive 80 percent of the ISV channel's revenue.
Microsoft has taken a number of steps to improve the performance of the masses with the future release of Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange.
Microsoft needs to engage the rest of the ISV ecosystem to act more like those that are most profitable. If you are an ISV, take a look at our programmes and talk to your account manager about getting involved in our activities and campaigns.
