someone asked me if there were ways to vertically maximize more than two windows using aero snap (snap one window to the left hand side of the screen and a second to the right hand side dragging the windows or using the windows key + left and right arrow keys) and sure enough a taskbar option comes through for this!

tips 01

right click on a unused area of your taskbar and you can select show windows stacked

stacked 02

up to three windows are maximized horizontally and stacked one after the other

tips 03

show windows side by side with three windows will vertically maximize and give each a third of the horizontal screen space

stacked 05

if you have four windows, both stacked and side by side arrange the 4 windows the same as shown above.

  • Your four windows example does not work as inadequately described.

  • I thought it was about algorithm. "Show Windows Stacked" should be referring only screen height, and "Show Windows Side by Side" should be referring only screen width. IMHO, it will be better if there is "Show Windows Tiles" and this feature including custom ratio --- A colum(s) x B row(s) --- so multi tasking windows can be user friendlier.
