I've heard DPM 2012 will go through a more extensive testing phase as far as HW providers, but many of us will be on 2010 for quite some time and knowing what works and what may not definitely helps.

We use a Tandberg T24 24-slot tape library with LTO4 H/H connected via SAS on DPM2010. The Tandberg LTO4 HH is recognized as an IBM LTO4 HH. Performance is >100MB/sec as has been previously quoted by MSFT. We run DPM on 2008 x64 and have not tested R2. Hope this helps.
