Several of the Windows Phone Store’s top apps have just gotten recent updates to enhance your experience with them, including 6snap, Weatherburg and Vine (pictured above).
Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced modern.IE, a free set of tools and resources designed to make it easier for developers to ensure their sites work smoothly across Internet Explorer, as well as other modern Web browsers.
Now, IE11 for Windows 7 and IE11 on Windows 8.1 are being added to the suite of virtual machines available on modern.IE for testing Internet Explorer across platforms and versions. You can learn more about modern.IE in the video above.

If you were going to create your own fantasy superhero team, “Avengers Alliance” is the way to do it. Now available at the Windows Store, the game includes the Avengers, Spider-Man, the X-Men, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk – more than 20 altogether – who you can recruit to go head-to-head against some of the world’s worst evil-doers, such as Dr. Doom and Loki.
Microsoft and Crytek are enhancing the “Ryse: Son of Rome” experience with a free game update to Gladiator mode that includes two new level events, reports Xbox Wire.
In the Gladiator mode, the two new level events will happen randomly across a variety of maps. “In the first, a new enemy turret will appear and bombard your Gladiator with deadly arrows until destroyed. In the second, Reward Statues of Roman deities will emerge from the sands and can be activated as a one-time bonus to boost your Gladiator’s Health or Focus,” Xbox Wire writes.
“Zoo Tycoon” is working with the virtual zoo community to help real-world endangered species by issuing a Community Challenge each month. Players can vote for a non-profit organization they like, and when the challenge’s goal is reached, Microsoft will donate $10,000 to the winning organization.
The voting community will also get updates about how the funds were spent, with photos and information about the impact the game’s community made on behalf of the endangered animals, Xbox Wire reports.
This month Microsoft updated the previews of Power BI for Office 365 and Power Query for Excel. These updates provide customers with more ways to explore, analyze and find insights on their data.
