these 'badges' and the comments of some remind me of girl scouts and boy scouts....

if someone wants to download and flaunt them all, well then, we get that person for what s/he is (although there are darn few SHEs out here, but some like Gail -- Well just WOW)....

if someone else wants to make them merit badges and earn them by Blogging points, well that's OK too.

if we can do anything silly that makes someone (including ourselves) smile, then why not DO IT???

personally, they're all quite silly . . . and meant by MSFT to draw attention to their products...

FINE . Just give us better code examples and I for one will be swimmingly happy and geeky.

ps TRY without cheating/looking -- how many of you actually know what the word GEEK is derived from ?

I think these badges are not showing any achievement awards or something rewarding our work. So, Anyone who is truly interested in SQL Server can use this.

I recommend everyone to use this in there profile.

is there any criteria for who should be using what badge? otherwise anyone would just plug-in all of them for just show-off.

Just an idea...can we use the badges that we earned in the technet profile page (for example, i have two silver + few bronze, : social.technet.microsoft.com/.../vishal0soni ). If we could use them on our profiles, that would be more interesting (Because we earned them by actually doing something, rather than just downloading and using them). :)
