Greetings to the SQL Server community :
Last year in October 2009, we introduced the process of interacting on a regular basis with the developers and users in the form of surveys. During the last 12 months, we completed surveys that focused on the broad SQL Connectivity components, including ODBC, ADO.NET, JDBC and PHP. These surveys provide us with an ability to validate some of the requests we have got from developers, users and partners such as you as well as ideas that we have gathered internally as a part of our development process. You have seen our roadmap for SQL Server evolve based on the feedback that we have received.
We view your organization as a key stakeholder in the process that we have to identify areas for future investments. The feedback you provide is valuable and each response will be read and will be treated with utmost confidence.
The survey can be found in the link below and will be available until November 2, 2010 5:00 PM PST.

I want to see SQL running on Linux-- it's what my customers want and I do too.....
Hi Raghu,
I am a DBA for Production & critical environments for more than 15 years, i started to to run with this survey but i found very quickly that is for developers and i stopped, why don't you send one like this for DBA's ? We are the relevant employees that actually touch the production environments and nothing is implemented without our approval after we check very deeply to find performance problem ?
I realy want to get an answer to this question of mine, thanks a lot, this is very interesting me from the professional point of view and for other DBA's that actually ask their self the same question like me now.
Regards,
Victor Shahar

I'd like to see compresseon in the standard edition (or in a "professional edition" placed between standard and enterprise), and the ability to buy ONLY SQL Server, so excluding reporting services, analys services and integration services.
None of my customers are using those tools and all of them need compression, but the Enterprise version is too expensive for almost all of them, causing almost all of them to stay on SQL Server 2005 instead of upgrading to 2008 R2 - this upgrade has no added value for them as long as they don't get the compression.
Hi,

The site SQL Reports has a great SQL tutorial. Highly recommended for people just getting started on SQL selects.
