How To Mount VHD Image From Windows 7 or Greater Step-By-Step Without Any Third Party Tools–The Easy Way

1) Click Start – Right-Click Computer – Select Manage {Authorize the elevation if prompted}

2) Expand Storage – Select Disk Management – Right-Click Disk Management – Select Attach VHD

3) Browse to select the VHD – Click OK

  • When I did this it created the vhd however when I reboot the machine the drive in not there nor the files I put in it.

  • derf, you need to mount the vhd from the location you saved it to use it again. It's like if you put in and out a flash drive. you need to plug it in again (mount it) so your computer can detect it.
