A Brief History of Scripting

You’ve been reading the Lync Server PowerShell blog for about a year now and have been wondering who in the world these people are and how they know so much about scripting with PowerShell. (Hey, it’s possible that someone has been wondering that.)

Or, you just stumbled upon this blog today and don’t really care who’s writing this or why. (A little more likely.)

Either way, if you ever do get curious about whether or not these guys are really qualified to do what they’re doing (as if there were any doubt!), read a little bit about the history of scripting at Microsoft, and where it all started. You might be surprised at what you learn.

Or you might not.

Don Jones, the well-known Windows PowerShell author, trainer, and speaker, decided to document A History of Microsoft’s Scripting Guys , starting with the original Scripting Guy, the Lync Server PowerShell blog’s very own Greg Stemp. Find out how Greg and company stumbled into scripting and blazed the trail for future script writers everywhere.
