Have you tried to renew the existing site server signing certificate for a native mode site, and wondered how to do this without creating a new certificate? This post provides a procedure to do this

re: How to Renew the Site Server Signing Certificate (Microsoft Certificate Services)

Hi,

I tried using the instructions listed and it doesn't list the server I should run these instructions on. I tried our CA server with the Site server certificate serial number and when it opens the box to select a certificate to renew the box is empty. At this point I am a bit confused. I have until next week to renew the certificate or I might have to create a new one.

Step 1: Certreq - new sitesigning.inf sitesigning.req

It sits there with an empty box(certificate list) when I do it on the server or on my desktop. I use a DOS prompt running as administrator.

Currently stuck to renew the certificate.

Under Site Management, Right click on your site server and click properties. Click the site mode tab. Under Site Server Signing Certificate you will notice a red exclamation mark beside the thumbprint string. Click Browse above it and select your new certificate. Afterwards it should import the new thumbprint and click ok.

[ConfigMgr] How to Renew the Site Server Signing Certificate (Microsoft Certificate Services)

Feed: The Configuration Manager Support Team Blog Is there anything Carol Bailey doesn't know about
