Known Issue: Configuration Manager Management Points collocated with clients fail after installing Windows Management Framework 3.0 and running Client Health Evaluation

We’ve been getting a few support calls regarding an issue with System Center 2012 Configuration Manager and the recently released Windows Management Framework 3.0 update KB2506143. Management points that are collocated with the client are experiencing failures because of an incorrect client health evaluation after installation of Windows Management Framework 3.0.  Please see KB2796086 for more information.

Update: Note that if you are still seeing this error on a Service Pack 1 site, confirm that both the management point and the clients have been upgraded.

  • The SCCM community (myITforum) has been buzzing about this for days.

  • Could this be related to CM 2007 as well?

  • We have SP1 installed on our ConfigMgr site and we still have this issue EVERY NIGHT!

  • @Roel, please see the note I've added to the post above.

  • Assuming our environment is still pre SP1, can wmf 3.0 be installed on workstations with the client installed? I understand it should not be installed on servers running the the management point role, but does this extend to workstations being managed?
