The official blog of the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Product Group
I’m a principal technical writer for Configuration Manager, working alongside the product group in Redmond since 2004. Previously to that, I was a consultant in London (UK), specializing in Active Directory and related security/infrastructure services. There are plenty of other Brits around here, but I still run into occasional problems with my “funny accent” – hence my picture with the cartoon BBC microphone. The areas that I’ve worked on with Configuration Manager include native mode and Internet-based client management, DCM, NAP, client framework (deployment, assignment, location services), software distribution, Wake on LAN, out of band management, security, and site/hierarchy related configuration.
In addition to contributing to the product documentation, I instigated the product quizzes as a fun and interactive way of raising “need-to-know” information about the product features, and I worked with my manager at the time (Steve Kaczmarek) and team to co-author the popular MSPress book Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Administrator’s Companion. I've previously posted on the Configuration Manager Writers blog and you can expect more of the same, only from now on I'll be blogging on this site rather than the writer's blog.
