The last couple of weeks have been so hectic. But hectic in a good way!
We launched SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006 in Dublin on November 10th to a sell out crowd - standing room only as we had 550 people attend! You can check out the SQL Server website here and you can also download the trial version of the software here.
Last week we also had nearly 100 IT Pros and IT managers at the IT Pro Forum in Barcelona. What a great event that turned out to be. We got some great feedback - the highest content scorings ever!
All in all Microsoft IT Pro Forum 2005 sold out. We had more than 4,000 IT professionals, staff, press, sponsors and exhibitors descend upon Barcelona. Amazing to meet so many people with so much passion for IT. I met with many of the Irish delegation on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night and had many discussions about technology, Microsoft and quite interestingly about how there seems to be a growing desire among Irish IT Pros for more opportunities for networking in a user group sort of way. This is something that I will definitely be taking a long hard look at over the coming weeks.
I hear that the Post Conference DVD will be mailed to all attendees shortly after Christmas and that the PowerPoint slides will be uploaded to showsrus in the next couple of weeks.
On a personal note I would just like to thank Sonja and Philippe who really helped so much in pulling the Irish elements of the event together and making it a huge success for the Irish TechNet team!
As a follow up to the IT Pro Forum we are now holding some Infrastructure events here in Ireland. The first one is on in Dublin on November 7th it's a TechNet morning of in depth, best practice, practical demonstrations (Level 300-400 technical content) to show how to properly implement Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) and Active Directory (AD) in order get the most out of them. We will also look at how you can use these tools to ensure a secure environment. Just click here to register
