On Oct. 10  we announced a broad reaching plan to enable ‘self-managing dynamic systems’. This announcement specifically focuses on virtualization technologies, changes in Windows licensing, and our long-term Dynamic Systems Initiative (DSI) strategy. System Center products MOM and SMS were important components in the announcement and supplied demos. For further information on this announcement please review Microsoft Announces Comprehensive Virtualization Strategy to Enable Self-Managing Dynamic Systems.

The Dynamic Systems Initiative (DSI) is a commitment from Microsoft and its partners to deliver self-managing dynamic systems to help IT teams capture and use knowledge to design more manageable systems and automate ongoing operations, resulting in reduced costs and more time to proactively focus on what is most important to the organization.
