各位热心的同事和朋友：

抱歉因为我的休假和出差，耽误了项目进度的汇报。2010年8月19日，村小建成，师生从租借民房搬入新校舍!

• 校舍修建
  • 营山县建设工程质量安全监督管理站于7月6日现场考察，出具《关于合兴大垭口小学工程质量情况说明》，结论：该工程质量状况良好，满足使用要求。
  • 有朋友咨询校舍修建是否受到最近恶劣气候，比如暴雨泥石流的影响。该村小地处川东北，离重灾区有300公里，没有受灾。
  • 我们已按照合同将第二批工程款五万汇给当地联系人王校长，最后一批工程款五万将在收到明细账目后汇去。
  • 校舍虽然修建完毕，大家看到师生的桌椅还是很破旧，缺少各种文体用品和必要的室内装潢。
• 后续计划
  • 人力资源部将在九月三日组织一次微软上海园区范围的爱心拍卖/义卖活动，我们的项目幸运得作为了唯一受益项目，义卖所得将全部资助此村小。如何参与呢？

    • 本周五（九月三日）中午在微软上海园区1号楼1楼，参与拍卖/义卖。
  • 我们本周三（九月一日）召开一次项目讨论会，两个议题：
    • 讨论我们如何在爱心拍卖/义卖活动中更好地展示项目，争取人气，启动第二阶段募捐，并现场招募九月（预计下旬）去村小实地考察和志愿支教的朋友。
    • 讨论捐款使用、实地考察和支教安排事宜。
  • 微软亚太研发集团（ARD）已启动“小行动 大视界 公益在身边”种子公益基金项目，用以资助员工自发的公益活动。在FY11财年中， ARD员工可以申请：项目基金：10,000 元(共设6项，项目规模为8人以上)。上面还有我的一段视频呢：希望工程：帮助四川农村的孩子们。我将为我们的项目申请此基金。

Hi, dear warmhearted colleagues and friends:

Sorry for sending this report late due to my vacation and business trip schedule.On 19th, August 2010, the school construction is done; the teachers and kids moved to the new school house!

• Construction
  • Construction Enginerring Quality Security Supervision Station of Yingshan County has done on-site check on 6th, July; and delivered the certificate for this school, concluding that the project quality is good, meeting usage requirement.
  • Some friends were concerned that if the construction is influenced by the recent heavy rains and landslides. Fortunately the village is located in northeast Sichuan, 300 kilometers from the disaster area, so the influence is very limited.
  • We have wired the second project budget 50k RMB to the school, and will wire the last 50k when we have the detailed accounting.
  • The school house is done, but as you can see, the desks and chairs are in very bad condition; and they are lack of necessary stationery sports goods and in-room decoration.
• Next Step
  • HR department is planning a charity auction event on 3rd September, across all groups in Microsoft Shanghai campus. Our project is the target beneficiary. All donation on the spot will be used to sponsor this village school. How to participate:

  • On this coming Wednesday, let’s have a project meeting. Topics include:
    • Discuss how we can prepare well to showcase the project on Friday, earn more eyeball and potentially recruit more friends for the school visiting and volunteering teaching on September.
    • Discuss how to use the donation and the school visiting/volunteering teaching.
  • Microsoft ARD has launched a Seed Grant Program to help jumpstart your community project ideas and turn them into reality. For FY11, ARD employees can apply for: 1of 6 large group grants of RMB 10,000 (Form a team of 8 employees or more). I have a video there: Project Hope: Supporting children in rural Sichuan. I will apply for this fund for our project.
