各位热心的同事和朋友：

请允许我在此对你们向四川山区村小付出的慷概支持和巨大热情表示真诚的希望。我将以每两周或每月一次的频率向微软内部邮件组“Sichuan Village School Project”(别名 scschool)，和公司外的捐款人发送项目进展报告邮件，欢迎邀请其他感兴趣的朋友加入这个邮件组。此外，在公司内网http://sharepointasia/sites/SichuanSchool和外部网站http://blogs.technet.com/chinahpc/也会列出项目的最新进展。

在这第一封项目进展报告邮件里，很高兴跟大家分享一个好消息：我们的项目进展十分顺利。

  • 捐款：我们已经达到项目第一阶段的募集目标，从3月9日起，我们进入项目的第二阶段。
    • 国内同事和朋友共捐款79184元人民币，我正把钱转入CTEF账户，并申请公司的匹配捐款。

    • CTEF已收到11,308美元(包括从国内转入的一部分）。CTEF的志愿者Yihua Liao帮我们在CTEF网站上制作了漂亮的网页http://ctef.donortools.com/my/funds/13251-Microsoft-TC-School-in-Sichuan来记录捐款进展，并让通过PayPal向项目的捐款变得更加容易。

Hi, dear warmhearted colleagues and friends:

Please allow me to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU ALL again for the generosity, support and passion for our Sichuan village school building project. I will send status email bi-weekly or monthly to the “Sichuan Village School Project”(alias: scschool)  Distributed Group and all other donors outside of Microsoft. Feel free to add yourself or invite other friends to this DG on http://idweb. In the very first status email, I’d like to share some really great news with you: our project goes very well so far.

· Donation: Fund raising goal for 1st milestone is achieved! We’re entering the 2nd fund raising milestone from 9th March.

o 79,184RMB has been raised in China till now. I’m wiring the donation to CTEF and requesting company match.

§ China donors, please check the detailed list here, and let me know if you cannot recognize your donation on that list.

o 11,308 USD has been received by CTEF for this project till now. Thanks to Yihua, Liao, we have a beautiful page http://ctef.donortools.com/my/funds/13251-Microsoft-TC-School-in-Sichuan to track donation progress and easily donate to this project via PayPal.

· Construction

o CTEF has wired the construction fund to its vice president Waisiu in Hangzhou; and then Waisiu is going to wire the money to our local coordinator in the village, hopefully this week. In the worst case, next week should do.

o After that, the construction work can get started before end of this month! I will send photos and videos later on during construction.

· Q&A

o How can we make this sustainable?

§ We may set up a project team later on, to discuss the donation usage, organize school visit and volunteer teaching.

o Is the donation still ongoing?

§ Yes, we are still raising fund as the 2nd milestone. When we have more donation than what construction project needs, we can figure out what’s the best plan for helping the village school.
