Okay, so our IT Camps are not really that kind of camp; they are, however, a great opportunity for you to get your hands on the technology that is relevant to today’s modern IT Pro.
Earlier this year we published a list of upcoming camps on Windows Server 2012. Every one of them has sold out! We are pleased to announce that we have a couple more camps scheduled for between now and the end of the calendar year, and I want to assure you that due to the immense popularity of the camps we will be adding more dates for the next quarter.
In the meantime we do not want you to get lost in the shuffle, so I am going to take this opportunity to republish the relevant portion of that article today. To view the original article, click here.
We look forward to seeing you at a camp near you soon!

IT Camps are free, full day, hands-on workshops in a classroom setting where you work through common scenarios in a lab environment. We'll be providing computers and lunch as well as funding $10 to the local user group for each attendee. Seats are limited by the number of computers and space we have so please be sure to attend if you sign up! If you can't make it - please cancel in good time to allow someone else the opportunity to take your place.
During the IT camp, we'll be covering the following material:
As we confirm new dates and locations, the list below will get updated. Please remember - if you register, please make every effort to attend as space is limited!
* The Montreal IT Camp on December 11 was a 2 hour, bring-your-own notebook workshop in the evening. It was a guided, interactive session put on as part of the DevTeach Montreal 2012 Conference.
Don’t forget to come back often for my updates. Let your friends and colleagues know! And in the meantime, make sure you download the evaluation software to try it out in the meantime by clicking here!
If you are anxiously waiting for a registration link to open for your city, or if you are hoping that your city will be added to the list, you can continue to check back by bookmarking http://www.aka.ms/ws2012events.

Um what happened to Edmonton. Why did it magically just disappear. This is seriously disappointing especially for those of us who missed the Calgary one and / or can't always get the time to drive down to Calgary for the day, to have to come back that night!

Hi Jon,
I am not sure why Edmonton fell off that list, but it is certainly in our plans; I have added it to the list in the meantime, and when we have a date confirmed we will publish the registration links. Right now we are not announcing any dates for the next quarter, but we will be discussing it soon and you will not have to wait too long! -MDG
Thanks! What's the best way to watch this page for when it's announced to make sure a person doesn't miss when registration starts?
No problem Jon. The best way is to visit often! Of course, there is also our RSS feed, and I am reasonably sure that every time we do announce a new date we will also post a new article. -MDG
Want to go to the Montreal one but don't have a strong enough laptop. Watching permitted?
Hello Ed,

It will be on Dec. 11, 2012 at the Delta Centre-Ville at 6:30pm. and you are absolutely welcome to come even if your laptop does not meet the requirements.
I hope you will do more than just watch, participate, make your presence felt. we need to amp up the volume on the Windows Server 2012 discussion.
I'll see you there.

I registered for the Montreal event, but I only received a confirmation on the web. there was also no time, is it really at 6:30PM and for how long?
Where do i get the info for the laptop setup?
Thanks!
Hi Darren,
Thanks for the comment. You raise some great points. I've included some additional detail in this comment post and we'll also provide it via an updated registration link. Anyone that registers at the current link will still be on the registration list for the event and will receive reminder emails pre event with all the necessary details.
The event does start at 6:30pm and is 2 hours long.
Learn what's new in Windows Server 2012 with this hands-on, guided session!
Be sure to bring your notebook! Before coming, download the Windows Server 2012 evaluation software (aka.ms/downloadserver2012) and install it as a dual boot OS, a VM or barebones on your notebook to get the full experience.
Be sure to join us even if you don’t have a notebook to bring with you as the evening will be chock full of great information and demos of Windows Server 2012.
To learn more about how to set up your PC, please read the detailed blog post: blogs.technet.com/.../trying-it-out-how-to-prepare-to-test-your-new-operating-system.aspx
Thanks,
Chris
for those who want to follow along the Montreal "BYOD" session. I suggest you take a look at blogs.technet.com/.../faced-with-choices-i-must-evaluate.aspx
it will show you how to dual-boot your machines without having to resize your partitions or even install Windows Server 2012. it's all about booting from VHD.
Thanks
Planning any event for Québec City?
Good morning Youri,
Yes, Quebec City is in our plans. However we do not have anything confirmed yet. keep and eye on this blog and we will publish details as soon as we have any further information.
When is the other one for Toronto? I know I missed it as I just discovered this site. Come back to Toronto, please :)
hello Adil,
We've already ran 3 camps in the Toronto area. We are also working on recording all the labs on this blog site and we are looking at the possibility of delivering them online.
Stay tuned for more information.
