As a follow up to my previous post on the top three download requests I get from IT Pros, with the recent release of the Windows Azure CTP of the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering, I need to expand the list to include a fourth.

The Top Four most-requested links for IT Pros are:

Windows Server 2012 .ISO  or  Windows Server 2012 .VHD

System Center 2012 with SP1 Suite

Microsoft Virtual Academy Signup

Windows Azure FREE Trial

BONUS 5th LinkHyper-V Server 2012 (FREE Hypervisor-based virtualization platform without the entire Windows Server feature set, click link for more details)

In case you missed it, Windows Azure is now offering an awesome IaaS solution to host Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, or a number of various Linux distros as VMs in the cloud.  I’ve been working with the solution for a few months and it’s a powerful yet simple offering that makes access to VMs in the cloud a breeze.  I’ve built out a good-sized lab environment on the Windows Azure platform with a number of Windows Server VMs and I couldn’t be happier with the ability to seamlessly RDP into each of the VMs and manage them like they’re sitting under my desk.  I’ll be doing a blog post on this shortly to outline what a fantastic solution this is.

I strongly suggest you check it out, I promise you it will be time well-invested! Windows Azure FREE Trial

Enjoy!
