What is your company’s mission?
Our Company’s mission is to connect Cloud based applications by building pre-packaged integration software.
How did you get the idea for your company?
There has been numerous cloud applications and there is a need for integration between Clouds based applications. My experience has been in the integration space for the past 10 years and I think that cloud is the future and there is a need for integration between cloud based applications.
What has been your biggest “aha” moment since founding your company?
When we launched our site www.integratecloud.com on November 28th 2013 and that was the biggest “aha” moment for us.
Tell us about your Azure based solution.
We are using Windows Azure Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas).There are total 6 VM’s running on Windows Azure 24 * 7 providing the backbone for www.integratecloud.com.
How is Azure implemented in your solution?
The site is hosted on a VM running ASP.NET. The database is hosted on SQL Server 2012 running on a separate VM and an integration server running on Windows 2008 r2
How did you get excited about Azure?
When I first signed up for free trial of Windows Azure and saw that I could create reliable Virtual Machines with a click of a button that was really exciting. And then I found with Windows Azure you can entirely create a corporate network with great reliability and scalability. And on top of that, it’s so easy to use.
What were the Azure features that prompted you to decide to build on Azure?
What advice do you have for companies that are thinking about building in the cloud?
Azure is the best cloud platform available in the market. If companies are investing for the long term then Azure is great choice.
Do you make reasonable predictions about how you are going to achieve revenue and then test them out, or do you start with a business model and deploy it, to see if it brings in revenue?
Integration of cloud applications is a big business and we definitely thought if we build an integration layer there will be lots of customer’s paying for integration services based on our experience. We assessed that building an integration layer is not going to very expensive so it was a worth a shot to try out instead of building a prototype.
What impact or legacy do you hope to make in the market and in the business world?
We want to become one of the top cloud connectors companies in the integration market.
What characteristics do you possess that make you an entrepreneur?
My Software Development background was one of the characteristics that made my job little bit easier. Our commitment to solve our customer’s problems makes our startup a startup.
Can you describe the relationship that you have had with Microsoft in building your startup?
Microsoft has helped us in every stage of our product development. First Microsoft gave us our BizSpark membership with free access to all the software needed to build a great product and on top of that, Windows Azure monthly credits for development servers. Our entire software and hardware costs were eliminated with our BizSpark membership. BizSpark is a great program..
Why would an entrepreneur turn to Microsoft for help in building scale, a team, or using software?
Microsoft is a one stop shop for all the software and Cloud infrastructure needed to build any kind of world class software products. On top of it, Microsoft has so many marketing programs which allows you to market the products easily. When Customers hear that the product or solution is built on Microsoft platform, it really brings a sense of trust and reliability.
