If you’re a big fan of Windows 8 like me, you must be wondering when UAG will support it. If so, the good news is that the UAG product team has formally announced upcoming support for it. In a few short months (1st quarter of 2013), SP3 for UAG will be released, and it will provide support for:
Naturally, the SP will address other issues and offer additional improvements. I will update this with new information, as it becomes available.
Looking forward to having this SP available soon!
Great news. We have now a clear status for Windows 8 clients connected to a DirectAccess infrastructure based on UAG 2010. Thanks.
It's a shame that UAG always appears behind the curve even with new releases of Microsoft software. I find it hard to defend how good UAG is - and it is good - when people ask me why Microsoft products don't work with other products. In their small world they don't understand that it's not easy to develop for something until it's completed however we had to wait a long time for Windows 7 support on IAG and I'm now having the same discussions with managers over support for Windows 8. It would be nice if just once Microsoft UAG team were able to get something out at the same time as a major OS release! Still it's good to know something will be released in the new year.
I'll hope the new SP will also fix the Remote Desktop support on MacOSX Mountain Lion!
IOS support would be nice too.
Any update for UAG SP3? Half of 2013 first quarter is gone!
In response to aijazs comment, sp3 is still in progress and is getting closer to release. Check my blog often for more news.
Do you have any idea if it will fix the issues with the new Java version 7 being pushed out to Macs?
Answer to Jon:
I'm afraid not.
