***As of April 2013, this page is no longer being kept current, as I have left the UAG support team. Please visit UAG's Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Forefront_Unified_Access_Gateway for updated information***
A few days ago, Service Pack 1 for UAG has been released, but we have seen some confusion with customers with regards to the type of updates UAG may have and how they relate to each other.
UAG can have the following types of updates:
1. A private fix, which the product-group may issue to resolve a specific issue that has been discovered.
2. A hot-fix, which may be released to resolve an issue, but is suitable for multiple customers.
3. A Roll-up, which is a hot-fix that includes several fixes in one package.
4. An Update, which is a more major collection of changes and fixes, often containing some functionality change.
5. A Service Pack, which is a major change to the product, including fixes and usually major functionality changes too.
Many Microsoft products have hot-fixes released, and these are often not publicly available, but require a customer to contact Microsoft within a support-case to receive. The reason for this is that the fix may require personal attention and guidance by a support engineer because it has a specific installation procedure, or changes the way the product behaves in a way that is not suitable for the general public.
Until now (Feb 2013), the UAG product-group has released Service Pack 3. This pack was designed to be installed on top of Service Pack 2, so be sure to install that SP first.
If you have installed a certain update, you may be wondering how to know at what level you are at. To know this, you can click on the Help menu, within the UAG management console, and select About.
The version number can tell you what version you are running, according to the following table:

Hi Ben,
I didn't find the download for Service Pack 1 Rollup 2 (a.k.a. Q1 2011 Rollup). Do you have a download link for me (us)?
regards Marc Grote
Hi, Marc.
Rollup 2 is not a publicly available update, as it addresses specific issues. To receive it, please open a support case with Microsoft.
Hi Ben, same question here - is SP1 Rollup 2 a private Fix?
Marc and me also share a little version-list here:
blog.forefront-tmg.de
Greets Jens Mander aka Karsten Hentrup...
Should SP1 RC be 4.0.1752.10000 ???
I cannot find the update to get me to version 4.0.1752.10025.
I'm afraid that Service Pack 1 Rollup 2 (which updates to version .10025) is not a publicly available update. If it has features you specifically require, please open a support case with Microsoft, and your assigned engineer will be happy to deliver the update to you.
