Technical overview whitepaper on FIM 2010

FIM 2010 has been out a couple of months and we have tons of documentation on TechNet and now finally I have published the technical whitepaper that should give you a walkthrough of the product in 50 short pages. The idea was to create a document and a presentation that could be used to understand a little bit more about the architecture of FIM and the key features. I presented a TechNet webcast a few weeks ago named Forefront Identity Manager 2010: Technical Overview and Deployment and now we also have the paper available.

Some topics explained in the paper:

Identity and Access Management sessions from TechEd 2010

New Orleans was as hot as you would expect with somewhere close to 10.000 IT pros in one place. We had a great event with a lot of interest in our IAM sessions with AD FS probably being the most asked about technology with Forefront Identity Manager as runner up.

I spent most of my days delivering sessions but I also stopped by the ask the experts booth and enjoyed the conversations with IT pros from around the world. The questions ranges from pricing and licensing that can be answered in a few minutes to technical design questions that took up most of the whiteboard space as we went through scenarios for much longer than a few minutes..

All IAM sessions are now available for everyone to view on http://www.msteched.com/Tracks/SecurityIdentityAccess . There are too many sessions for me to list all of them.

My break out sessions are recorded but not the 1 hour demo session :-(

Getting ready for Identity and Access @ TechEd in New Orleans

It doesn’t seem that long ago that I spent a November week in a rainy and cold Berlin for TechEd Europe… TechEd in New Orleans in June will definitely not be cold and the number of sessions on Identity and Access Management will also help keep me warm.

If you are going to be in New Orleans please stop by the IAM booth and chat with me or any of the experts from the product groups as well as MVP’s. I will spend some time there on Wednesday, Thursday as Monday is filled with session and on Tuesday I will be delivering sessions and having meetings at an Analyst summit.
