Need to Synchronize folders of digital images?

I’ve just got back from a lovely two week vacation that included a 7 day cruise up into Alaska.  All I can say is WOW!  The scenery is beautiful.  I took all of my Canon equipment with me (EOS 20D, EOS D60, S500) and took hundreds of photos.  Now that I’m home, I need to get all of those photos backed up onto my home server.

As I was catching up on me email, I noticed one announcing the beta of SyncToy.  If you have to deal with keeping multiple directories of photos (or any file for that matter) in sync, you may want to take a look at this free download.

Let me know if you find this useful.

  • Make sure you download and install the .NET Framework 1.1 before installing SyncToy since SyncToy is a .NET application. You can get the .NET Framework 1.1 as an optional update from Windows Update or SyncToy install will take you to the URL to download the .NET Framework. I got it from Windows Update - easier, I thought.
