Recently, Microsoft’s Atlanta office hosted the chapter meeting of Girl Talk, an inspiring student-to-student mentoring program where high school girls mentor middle school girls. The program helps girls deal with the triumphs and trials of the early teenage years and the organization’s mission is to teach the value of leadership, mentoring and community service. Girl Talk provides a detailed curriculum of relevant topics including everything from body image to bullying to texting and social media etiquette.
Today, Girl Talk is one of the fastest growing mentoring programs in the country. There are chapters in 43 states and 6 countries. Here in the metro Atlanta area there are more than 25 chapters of Girl Talk.
Our very own Patricia Arundel, GSD Sales Excellence Manager was the keynote speaker at the chapter meeting. Patricia inspired the girls by discussing her education, career and experiences at Microsoft.
Girl Talk is always looking for mentors and volunteers. To learn more about what you can do to get involved, please visit the volunteers page.
